Ian Huntley, the infamous Soham child killer, is fighting for his life after a brutal attack inside HMP Frankland. The 52-year-old was found unconscious and bleeding on his prison wing at around 9am following a savage assault by another inmate. Sources say his condition is “touch and go.”

Frenzied Prison Attack Sends Huntley to Hospital

Chaos erupted at the high-security jail in County Durham when Huntley was found in a pool of blood. “It was absolute chaos,” a source revealed. “Huntley usually has heavy protection, so this attack must have been carefully timed when guards weren’t nearby. A weapon was almost certainly used judging by his injuries.”

The violent assault echoes the fatal stabbing of paedophile rocker Ian Watkins last year at Wakefield Prison, highlighting ongoing dangers for notorious child offenders behind bars.

Why Huntley Is a Constant Target in Prison

Huntley is serving life sentences for the 2002 murders of 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, whose disappearance gripped the nation. He lured the schoolgirls to his home before killing them, sparking a vast manhunt.

Huntley was convicted in 2003 and has spent years locked up at Frankland. His horrific crimes have made him a prime target. In 2010, armed robber Damien Fowkes slashed Huntley’s throat in the same jail, sending him to hospital. In 2005, murderer Mark Hobson threw boiling water over him at Wakefield Prison.

Guards Crack Down on Huntley’s Chilling Prison Gear

Officers recently confiscated a red Manchester United-style shirt Huntley was wearing, emblazoned with a sinister No 10 — believed to be a twisted nod to the ages of his victims. Fellow inmates had complained about the top. Other seized items included framed photos of Huntley with ex-fiancée Maxine Carr and several DVDs.

Families Still Haunted by Huntley’s Crimes

“He knew how the girls would react because that’s how they reacted when he killed them,” said one reporter, referencing Huntley’s eerie knowledge during interviews after the murders.

Despite Huntley’s court claims that the deaths were accidental, prison tapes revealed he killed Jessica deliberately to keep her silent. His ongoing lies deny the victims’ families closure.

Huntley won’t be eligible for release until 2042.

Police Confirm Inquiry Into Attack

A Durham Constabulary spokesman said: “Police were alerted to an assault at HMP Frankland this morning. A male prisoner suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. A police investigation is now underway and detectives are working with prison staff.”
