RNLI Lifeguard Recruitment Kicks Off for 2023 Summer Season

The RNLI is on the hunt for new lifeguards to guard East Sussex’s beaches this summer. These lifesavers don’t just rescue swimmers in trouble—they also deliver first aid and vital safety advice to keep beachgoers safe and sound.

Last Year’s Lifesaving Stats and Heroic Rescues

In 2022, East Sussex RNLI lifeguards responded to 359 incidents, helping just as many people in need. Last summer’s daring rescues included saving swimmers trapped by strong currents, children swept offshore on inflatables, distressed paddleboarders, and delivering critical first aid on the beach.
