A blaze has broken out at the US Embassy in Riyadh following an explosion. The Saudi defence ministry said two drones targeted the embassy, setting it on fire.
Swift Security Alert for Americans
The US Embassy wasted no time issuing a serious security alert. Their post on X warned American citizens across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran to “shelter in place immediately.” The embassy also limited all non-essential travel to military sites in the region.
US Mission to Saudi Arabia: “We recommend American citizens in the Kingdom to shelter in place immediately. The US Mission continues to monitor the regional situation.”
Embassy Hit but No Injuries Reported
The embassy was empty during the attack, and no casualties have been reported. Despite the scare, the situation appears under control for now.
