A 17-year-old boy from Brighton has appeared before Crawley magistrates after a man was stabbed in Worthing’s Victoria Park in the early hours of 28 February.

Victim Seriously Injured in Park Attack

Emergency services raced to the scene following reports of a serious assault. The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered a stab wound during a brief confrontation with two people inside the park. Paramedics treated him on site before rushing him to the hospital. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Sussex Police quickly arrested the teenager, charging him with wounding with intent and involvement in Class A drug supply. At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 3 March, he was remanded in custody and is set to return for further hearings.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Officers say investigations are ongoing to piece together the full story behind the violent incident. They’re appealing for anyone who was in Victoria Park around the early hours of 28 February to come forward.
