Massive Drug Haul and Cash Found in Car and Home
Matthew Harrison, 52, from Lees New Road, Oldham, has been slapped with a 12-year jail sentence at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court. The sentence comes after a massive drug bust uncovered £156,000 in cash along with a haul of class A and B drugs.
Back in September 2025, police stopped Harrison driving a black BMW on Middleton Road, Oldham. A search revealed 6kg of cannabis, 55g of cocaine, and about 1,000 MDMA tablets. Harrison was immediately arrested for drug possession with intent to supply.
Cash, Cash-Counting Machines & Luxury Items Seized
Following the car stop, officers searched Harrison’s home. They found a stash of £156,000 hidden under bedside drawers, a Rolex watch, several paintings, and two cash-counting machines.

Police Crack Down on Drug Crime in Greater Manchester
Detective Constable Andy Pearson of the Oldham Challenger team said: “This sentencing reflects the seriousness of Harrison’s actions and the harm that drug supply brings to our communities.”
“He was found in possession of significant quantities of cannabis and MDMA, along with cash linked to money laundering. Harrison clearly profited from the misery caused by illegal drugs.”
“Our officers work tirelessly to disrupt dealers. This result shows we’re committed to clearing drugs from our streets and holding criminals accountable.”
“If you’re involved in drug supply or money laundering, we will find you and take action.”
“Community members worried about drug activity can report anonymously to 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Part of Wider Effort Tackling Organised Crime
Harrison’s arrest is part of Greater Manchester’s Programme Challenger, a joint effort uniting police, councils, and community groups to fight serious organised crime across the region.
