Center Parcs guests are being warned to take extra care behind the wheel this spring. Hundreds of toads are embarking on their annual migration across woodland roads and paths. Late February to March is prime time for these amphibians, as they return to their birth ponds to breed.

Toad Traffic Jam Hits Longleat Forest and Beyond

Longleat Forest in Wiltshire is no stranger to this toad trek. Its perfect mix of woodlands and freshwater ponds makes it a hotspot for amphibian action. Meanwhile, over 700 toads have been spotted in the lakes at Centre Parcs Elveden Forest, Norfolk, with 200+ counted just last week.
