A serving Sussex Police officer faces serious sex crime charges involving two children.
Detective Inspector Iain Macnab Arrested
Iain Macnab, 51, a Detective Inspector based in West Sussex, has been charged with multiple offences. These include sexual assault, sexual activity with a child, and perverting the course of justice.
The shocking allegations relate to his role as an off-duty football coach between October 2024 and February 2025. The perverting justice charge reportedly occurred while he was on duty.
Support for Victims and Ongoing Investigation
- Both victims and their families are receiving support from specially trained officers.
- Macnab was suspended in March 2025 after the first reports came in.
- He is currently in custody and due in Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 24.
The probe is being led by Surrey Police, with the Independent Office for Police Conduct also involved, as is standard in such cases.
