Knife-Wielding Robber Nabbed After Rolex Heist
A brutal thief pulled a terrifying knife raid in Maidstone before trying to hide under a duvet as cops swooped to arrest him at his London home. Jason Wokeh, 20, has now been locked up for seven and a half years after snatching a luxury Rolex watch worth over £10,000.
Luxury Watch Stolen at Knifepoint
The robbery unfolded on the evening of 19 August 2025, when Wokeh responded to an online ad to view the high-end timepiece in Shepway. Lulling the seller into a false sense of security by asking questions about the watch, Wokeh then whipped out a 10-inch knife and threatened the man before making off with the Rolex and its paperwork.
Hilarious Hide-and-Seek Ends in Arrest
Police quickly identified Wokeh using CCTV footage and tracked him to his Woolwich home on Maxey Road. In a desperate last-ditch effort, the thief hid under his bedding but eventually gave himself away by silently pointing to the stolen watch when officers mentioned a search.
Swift Justice for Shaken Victim
Wokeh pleaded guilty to robbery and threatening with an offensive weapon at Maidstone Crown Court on 6 October and was sentenced on 23 March 2026.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Lynch said: “Wokeh turned up pretending to be a genuine buyer. He betrayed the victim’s trust, threatening to stab him and stealing his luxury watch, leaving him shaken.”
“I’m glad our officers delivered swift justice. Wokeh is now behind bars just months after the crime.”
