Four suspects are in police custody after a man died in a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in Barnsley.

Tragic Accident in Cudworth

On Friday 3 April at 4:55pm, South Yorkshire Police were called by ambulance services following reports of a crash on Rose Tree Avenue, Cudworth. A 45-year-old man was struck by a white Volkswagen Touareg and sadly died at the scene. Police have confirmed the victim’s family are being supported by officers as investigations continue.

Two More Arrests Made

  • On Saturday, 4 April, a 33-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
  • Previously, on Friday, a 60-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were also arrested on the same suspicion and are in police custody.

The police cordon on Rose Tree Avenue has now been lifted.
