A daring police chase ended with the arrest of a 21-year-old Brighton man after a suspicious vehicle was tracked from Brighton into Peacehaven by a police helicopter.

Suspicious Driving Sparks Helicopter Hunt

On Sunday, 6 April, officers on patrol in Brighton spotted a car acting oddly. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter swooped in to track the vehicle as it weaved through the area.

Suspect Caught and Arrested on Multiple Charges

The car was finally stopped safely on Lake Drive, Peacehaven. The driver, a 21-year-old local man, was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, vehicle interference, drug driving, no insurance, and several road traffic offences. He’s currently on bail pending further investigation.

Police Seek Witnesses and Footage

Sussex Police are urging anyone who saw the car or has CCTV/dashcam footage from the area to come forward. Witnesses can contact Sussex Police online, quoting serial 1167 of 06/04.
