Four Dead in Tragic Brent House Fire – Victims Named
The Metropolitan Police have officially named the victims of the heartbreaking blaze that tore through a Brent home in Tillett Close, Stonebridge. The horrific fire broke out at 1.22am on Saturday, 24 May, claiming the lives of 43-year-old Nusrat Usman and her three children: 15-year-old Maryam Mikaiel, 8-year-old Musa Usman, and 4-year-old Raees Usman.
Firefighters Fight to Save Lives
London Fire Brigade and Met officers rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised. Despite their relentless efforts, all four perished inside the property. A woman in her 70s was also rescued and has since been released from hospital. However, a 13-year-old girl remains in critical condition.
Police Launch Complex Investigation
Superintendent Steve Allen of the Met’s North-West London team paid tribute to the first responders and the local community. He said:
“Our thoughts go out to all those impacted by what has happened. Local officers are working closely with the Specialist Crime Command on what continues to be a very complex investigation.”
A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene but was later bailed and detained under the Mental Health Act. Police cordons remain as detectives continue their inquiries.
