WW2 Bomb Sparks Evacuation at Warsash’s Chilling Beach!

Police and the UK Coastguard have sealed off part of Chilling Beach in Warsash after a second unexploded World War Two bomb was found underwater. The danger zone stretches both on land and at sea, sparking major safety measures.

Royal Navy Bomb Squad Called In

A Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team is now on site to defuse the deadly device. Authorities have set up a strict 500-metre exclusion zone in the water, pinpointed at Latitude 50° 49.096N, Longitude 001° 15.096W.

Patrolled by Police and MOD Vessels

The cordoned area is heavily patrolled by Hampshire Police’s marine launch and a Ministry of Defence launch. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson revealed:

“We were called at 11:47am when a boat stumbled upon a piece of historic ordnance off Meon Shore. We responded immediately and created a beach cordon as a precaution.

“We’re working closely with the Coastguard. Our Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is on scene managing the threat.”

Coastguard Warns: Keep Clear!

The beach remains closed with a firm 500-metre safety zone in force. Coastguard officials urge locals and visitors alike not to enter or cross the area under any circumstances.
