Firefighters Tackled Fifth Hoax Call at Same Isle of Wight Home
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service raced to a Wootton address for the fifth time this month after another bogus 999 call.
At around 9.45pm on Sunday, fire crews from Newport and Ryde, plus a special unit from Newport, were scrambled to St Edmunds Walk. But once again, the alarm was false.
Costly False Alarms Spark Concern
These repeated hoax calls have cost thousands of pounds and tied up emergency resources.
A source from the fire service revealed an elderly resident with health issues lives at the property. Firefighters are now working alongside partner agencies to tackle the problem and find a lasting solution.
