Man Arrested Over Sabina Murder as Police Hunt Key Witness
Suspect Held in Lewisham
Police arrested a man on Thursday, 23 September, at a Lewisham address in connection with the murder of Sabina.
Desperate CCTV Appeal for Crucial Clue
Detectives are urgently seeking information about a man caught on CCTV in Pegler Square, E3, the same night Sabina was attacked. Two clear images and footage have been released, showing the man and a silver vehicle believed to be linked to him.
Officers are urging anyone who recognises the man or the car to come forward immediately.
Investigation Update: What Happened to Sabina?
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command thanked the public for their overwhelming support: “We want to thank those who have shared our image appeal over the last 24 hours – it has gained a huge amount of coverage and we are extremely grateful for the public’s help.”
He added, “We are now a week on from Sabina’s murder. While progress has been made, we must keep this appeal going. Anyone with information should come forward.”
Police believe Sabina left her home on Astell Road, SE3, just before 8.30pm on Friday, 17 September. She was heading through Cator Park, possibly to meet a friend at The Depot bar on Pegler Square, Kidbrooke Village.
Sabina never made it to the pub and is thought to have been killed while walking through the park. Her body was discovered near the OneSpace community centre the next day at around 5.30pm.
Post-mortem results on 20 September were inconclusive.
