Drunken yob hurls homophobic abuse at Nottingham hotel staff before cops haul him off

Chaos at Maid Marian Way hotel

Police rushed to a disturbance at a hotel on Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, just after 7pm on Monday (19 December). They found a 38-year-old man completely wasted and shouting vile abuse at staff.

Homophobic rant lands him in cuffs

The suspect allegedly fired off repeated homophobic slurs. Officers had no choice but to arrest him on suspicion of a public order offence. Even while being cuffed, the yob didn’t stop – he continued to hurl the same appalling abuse at the arresting officers.

Zero tolerance from Nottinghamshire Police

Sergeant Paul Whitehead said: “It simply shouldn’t be considered part of anyone’s job to be abused at work. Such behaviour will not be tolerated and Nottinghamshire Police will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of hate crime. We take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will always take robust action against anyone who engages in such abhorrent behaviour.”
