Shock in Tennyson Road as Woman Dies in Disturbance, Man Arrested
Tragedy Strikes in Quiet Neighbourhood
Police were called just after 4pm yesterday, Tuesday 1 February, following reports of a disturbance at a home on Tennyson Road. Despite paramedics’ desperate efforts, a woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Quick Arrest Made
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Scott Egerton, leading the investigation, said: “We are in the early stages and working hard to piece together what happened.”
He added, “This happened in a residential area, so we understand local concern. But with the swift arrest, we do not believe the wider public is at risk.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
There will be a strong police presence in the area throughout today. Officers urge anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward.
