Teen Killed After Police Chase Ends in Horror Crash
A car smashed into a tree near Bosty Lane and Daw End, Aldridge, just before midnight on 21 July.
Minutes earlier, traffic officers had spotted the vehicle and a short pursuit unfolded.
Tragic Death and Injuries
Emergency crews gave CPR at the scene, but sadly, a 17-year-old boy died from his injuries.
Three others — a 16-year-old boy and two men aged 21 and 22 — were rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation Underway
Families have been informed. The 17-year-old’s family is being supported by Family Liaison Officers.
Superintendent Pervez Mohammed from Walsall Local Policing Area said:
“Our thoughts are with the families during this difficult time. The investigation is at a very early stage as we piece together exactly what happened.”
“Because a police vehicle was nearby at the time, the incident will be independently reviewed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and our Professional Standards Department.”
“We urge anyone with dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage from the area to contact us.”
How to Help Police
Officers are reviewing dashcam and bodycam footage. The crash site was sealed off for a full scene examination.
