Hampshire Air Ambulance Scrambles to 500+ Emergencies in 2024
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has already answered over 500 emergency calls this year. Flying day and night, 365 days a year, their crack Critical Care Team of paramedics, doctors, and pilots can reach a scene within minutes. They bring hospital-level care straight to the casualties, equipped with the latest life-saving gear.
Daily Life-Saving Missions
On average, the Air Ambulance and its Critical Care Team Vehicle are scrambled 4 to 6 times every single day—sometimes even more. Their urgent missions range from road traffic collisions (19%) to cardiac arrests (15%), unconscious patients (14%), and stabbings (3%).

Funding Crisis: No Government Cash
The service costs over £9,000 a day to keep airborne and save lives, yet it receives no government funding. Instead, the charity depends entirely on donations from individuals and organisations.
The Air Ambulance can reach anywhere in Hampshire within 15 minutes and anywhere on the Isle of Wight within 20 minutes—proving just how vital your donations are. Without public support, this critical service simply can’t fly.
