19-Year-Old Stabbed in Kirkby Park – Police Launch Appeal
Detectives are hunting for answers after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in broad daylight in Kirkby yesterday afternoon.
Attack in Mill Dam Park Sparks Fear
Just before 4pm on Tuesday, emergency services rushed to Mill Dam Park, Mill Lane, after reports of a brutal stabbing. The victim was ambushed from behind and slashed across the neck and back.
He was found collapsed on the ground before being taken to a nearby address in Grasmere Gardens for help. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and he remains in stable condition.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Chief Inspector Peter Clark said:
“The circumstances surrounding this incident are unclear at this time and we will be continuing to speak to people locally. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and talk to us.”
He added:
“We all understand the concern that knife crime and other violence causes, but with your information we can keep making arrests, seizing weapons, and educating people on the risks of carrying weapons, to themselves and others.”

Police have started reviewing CCTV footage and are appealing for any witnesses to share what they know immediately.
