Attempted Murder Shocks Stevenston Night

Police launch urgent appeal after two men seriously injured in a brutal attack on Forde Crescent, Stevenston, in the early hours of July 8.

Violent Attack Leaves Two Hospitalised

At around 12.40am BST, officers rushed to Forde Crescent near Hyslop Road following a distress call. They found two men, aged 27 and 28, with severe injuries from the violent assault.

The 28-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and later discharged. His 29-year-old companion received treatment at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, and has also been released.

Police Hunt Witnesses to Crack Case

North Ayrshire CID is treating the incident as attempted murder and investigating intensively. Detective Sergeant Peter Sweeney called on anyone in the area between 12.20am and 1am to step forward.

“Forde Crescent is a residential street – it’s likely someone saw or heard something critical to our inquiries,” he said.

Police want dashcam, doorbell footage, or any information that could help. Witnesses should call 101 quoting incident number 0170 of July 8, 2023.
