Double Stabbing Shakes Hackney’s Old Hill Road

Emergency crews rushed to Old Hill Road in Hackney on Monday evening after a shocking double stabbing. The Metropolitan Police arrived around 5pm to find two victims with stab wounds inside a residential property opposite Old Hill Community Centre.

Paramedics Rush Victims to Hospital

London Ambulance Service treated both victims at the scene before whisking them to hospital. Although their injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening, details about their current condition remain under wraps.

Police Lock Down Crime Scene

Officers sealed off the area with a tight cordon, setting up a crime scene for forensic examination. They’re carrying out house-to-house inquiries and scouring CCTV footage to piece together what happened. The road remains closed, with commuters urged to find alternative routes.

Residents Alarmed by Surge in Violence

Local residents expressed shock and fear following the violent attack. Emma Thompson, who lives on Old Hill Street, said:

“It’s terrifying that something like this could happen so close to home. We’ve always seen this as a safe neighbourhood, but recently there’s been more violence, and it’s worrying.”

Parents voiced concerns about knife crime rising in the area, worried about children frequently passing through the street.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

The Metropolitan Police are investigating and urged anyone with information or CCTV/dashcam footage from the area around the time of the attack to come forward.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation and appeal to the public for any help,” a Met source said.
