Heath Road in Twickenham is shut both ways after a dramatic crash flipped a car onto its roof outside a parade of shops this afternoon.
Vauxhall Astra Flips Outside Consol Tanning Centre
A light blue Vauxhall Astra mounted the pavement, slammed into the kerb, then flipped over, landing in the middle of the road just after 3pm on Wednesday, 26th April 2017. The smash happened right outside the Consol Tanning Centre, sparking a major emergency response.
Ambulance and Firefighters Rush to Scene

Traffic Chaos as Buses and Drivers Face Long Delays
Bus routes 110, 267, 281, 290, 490, and H22 are all being diverted due to the blockage. Over 10 buses are stuck waiting to get through, causing snarls on surrounding roads as drivers hunt for alternate routes.
“I heard an almighty bang about an hour ago. Thought it was thunder, then saw the car on its roof,” said Paul Sarahs, a freelance football commentator, who witnessed the accident unfold.
Emergency Services Warn of Long Delays
Police have closed Heath Road to all traffic while paramedics and fire crews stabilise the vehicle and work to rescue the trapped driver. Traffic is expected to remain gridlocked in the area for some time.
