Murder Probe Launched After Woman Stabbed To Death in Trafalgar Road
A brutal murder investigation is underway after a 29-year-old woman was fatally stabbed at a residential property on Trafalgar Road.
Stabbing Incident and Arrest
Police were called to the scene at around 10:20pm on Wednesday, 27 August. Paramedics battled to save the victim but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 33-year-old man, believed to know the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Ongoing Investigation
The victim’s identity has yet to be formally confirmed, though a post-mortem has already been completed.
Detective Inspector Mark Franklin, leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who at this unimaginably difficult time are being supported by specialist officers. We know this incident will cause great concern within the community. While we are confident this is an isolated incident, residents will see an increased police presence in the area. If you are concerned, please speak to one of those officers on patrol.”
