Human Remains Found in Kersal Wetlands Prompt Major Police Probe

Police are scrambling to crack the mystery after human remains were discovered in Kersal Wetlands on Thursday evening, 4 April.

Forensic Teams Dig Deep for Clues

Salford’s Major Incident Team is working round the clock with local officers, backed by forensic experts, search teams, and dog units combing the area for evidence.

So far, nothing has been found beyond the initial remains.

Victim Identified as Man, Over 40

Forensic tests on Friday confirmed the victim is a man, likely over 40, deceased for only a few days.

DNA testing and other inquiries are ongoing to pin down his identity.

Police Plea for Witnesses

Chief Supt Tony Creely urged the public to come forward. “We are moving fast but with respect and care. Our priority is identifying the man and supporting his family,” he said.

Residents experiencing disruption from police activity are thanked for their patience.
