Specialist officers, backed by forensic scientists and an anthropologist, have swarmed the scene. A large cordon is set up and expected to stay for at least seven days.
To keep the investigation airtight, a no-fly zone including drones is in force over the area. A tent has been pitched in the field where the remains were discovered to preserve crucial evidence.
