Learner Driver Busted for Drug Driving Mid-Test in St Helens

A 26-year-old learner was arrested for suspected drug driving right in the middle of his driving test in St Helens. Merseyside Police’s Roads Policing Unit stopped him after spotting a faulty brake light and dodgy driving on King Street.

Police Sniff Out Cannabis at the Wheel

Officers say the smell of cannabis hit them as soon as they approached the car. The driver flunked a roadside drug test and was found carrying cannabis. His test was immediately cancelled, and he was taken into custody.

Cop Slams Dangerous Drug Driving

Roads Policing Insp Simon Wilson said: “Although some might find it funny that someone was arrested during their driving test, drug driving is deadly serious. “The brake light wasn’t working, putting everyone at risk. After speaking with the driver, it was clear we had bigger concerns.”
