Man Bailed After Shocking Acid Attack Outside West London School

A 35-year-old man arrested over a suspected acid attack outside Westminster Academy in West London has been released on bail.

Teen Girl Left with Life-Changing Burns

The horrifying attack happened on September 30. Victim Tegan McFarlane, 14, suffered severe burns to the left side of her face and required surgery. A 16-year-old boy was also sprayed but suffered less serious injuries. A helpful school staff member was injured trying to give first aid.

Suspect Flees on Electric Scooter

Detectives say a lone man hurled the corrosive substance at the teens before escaping on an electric scooter along Harrow Road. Police launched an immediate investigation and arrested the 35-year-old on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on October 3. He is now out on bail as inquiries continue. A 14-year-old girl was also arrested and bailed in connection with the attack.

Community In Shock

Tegan’s father, Corey McFarlane, spoke of the family’s pain: “Words cannot express the shock, pain, and trauma my daughter is experiencing, both physically and emotionally.” He revealed Tegan is “very traumatised” and fears lifelong scarring.

The 16-year-old boy has since been discharged from hospital.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detective Superintendent Scott Ware, leading the probe, said: “We are working closely with partners to support the community and maintain safety.” A strong police presence remains outside the school for reassurance.

Ware urged anyone with information or dashcam footage from Alfred Road around the time of the attack to contact police immediately.
