Shock Blaze at Southampton Home – Door Set on Fire in Dead of Night

Police are hunting for clues after a house door was deliberately set ablaze in Southampton in the early hours of Monday, 20 April.

Man Escapes Through Window to Fight Flames

The terrifying incident happened between 1.30am and 1.45am in Wimpson Lane. Inside were a 56-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman when a passer-by spotted the fire and raised the alarm.

The brave man scrambled out of the living room window and managed to put out most of the fire before firefighters arrived. A petrol can was found burning outside the front of the house.

Victim Treated for Smoke Inhalation

The man was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with smoke inhalation but has now been discharged.

Police Appeal for Petrol Can Sellers and Witnesses

Officers urgently want to speak to anyone who has recently sold a green petrol can in the area or spotted suspicious activity around the time of the attack.
