Man’s Death in Rutherglen Now a Murder Investigation

Stuart McGeachie, 38, has tragically died after an assault in Rutherglen, Scotland. Police are now treating his death as murder following a post-mortem examination.

Attack on Farmeloan Road

Officers were called to Farmeloan Road near Victoria Street at around 7pm on October 24 after reports of a disturbance. Stuart was found injured outside a local premises but managed to reach a nearby flat. Sadly, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Launch Major Investigation

Detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team have taken charge of the case. Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison offered condolences to Stuart’s family and pledged to find those responsible.

“We are fully committed to identifying and locating those responsible for this terrible crime,” said DCI Morrison. “CCTV footage is being reviewed, and we are appealing for witnesses.”

Appeal for Witnesses

Police want to speak to a group of youths seen riding bikes or scooters wearing dark clothes in the area on the day of the assault. They believe this group could hold key information.

Farmeloan Road and Victoria Street were briefly closed for investigations but are now reopened. Officers remain on patrol and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
