Shock in Co Armagh: Elderly Man Found Dead with Serious Head Injuries
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have launched a murder probe after a man in his 70s was found dead with severe head injuries in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh. The grim discovery was made at a home on Annaghmare Road on Saturday evening, 15 June.
Police Find Victim in Bathroom, Launch Murder Investigation
PSNI officers were called to the scene around 7pm. They found the elderly man’s body in the bathroom and immediately began investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly is leading the inquiry.
“Our inquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death,” DCI Kelly said. “Officers remain at the scene.”
67-Year-Old Arrested; Police Appeal for Witnesses
A 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
“I am appealing to anyone who believes they may have information that could assist us with our investigation to contact us on 101, quoting reference 1435 15/06/24,” DCI Kelly added.
