Woman’s Cash Stolen at Tesco ATM Scam

A woman in her 60s fell victim to a sneaky ATM scam at Tesco in Park Farm on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, between 12 noon and 12:30 p.m.

Trickster Targets Elderly Shopper

The victim was warned by a man that the cash machine wasn’t working and told she had to press certain buttons to fix it. During this distraction, it’s believed the scammer stole her bank card.

Cash Withdrawn Elsewhere

Soon after, the woman discovered that cash had been withdrawn fraudulently from a different town’s ATM, leaving her out of pocket.

Police Hunt Man in CCTV Images

Kent Police have released images of a man they want to speak to, hoping he can shed light on the theft.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information should contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting case number 46/154926/22,” police said.
