Police Hunt Witnesses After Suspicious Incident on A46 Layby
A tense situation unfolded yesterday afternoon on the northbound A46, just south of the Owthorpe turn-off. A white or silver car was spotted in a layby at around 3.15pm, involving a man and a woman, both described as white.
Possible Link to Woman in Distress in Shelford
Nottinghamshire Police suspect this incident might be connected to two later reports of a distressed woman spotted between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Stoke Ferry Lane, Shelford.
Police Plead for Public Help and Dashcam Footage
Detective Inspector Simon Harrison said: “These are clearly very concerning reports and we are urgently investigating what happened.”
He added, “Officers have worked throughout the night to track and trace several vehicles seen in the area and we are now appealing to members of the public for help. We want to speak to drivers who were on the A46 at around 3.15pm and saw a white or silver car parked in a layby.”
Police are particularly keen to get hold of any dashcam footage from that stretch of road.
