Chaos erupted in Folkestone in the early hours of Sunday, 31 October 2021, as multiple assaults unfolded on Tontine Street.
Staff and Police Victims in Violent Incident
Just after 1am, police rushed to a local venue after two staff members reported being attacked. When officers arrived, the violence escalated — one was punched and headbutted, while another officer was kicked.
Multiple Arrests Made, Investigations Ongoing
Five suspects were detained: three men aged 20, 21, and 23, an 18-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old girl. All were arrested on suspicion of assault and public order offences but have since been released pending further enquiries.
