Woman followed and attacked near Cornerstone Church
A 21-year-old woman was horrified to realise she was being followed by an unknown man along Castle Boulevard just after 2am on Saturday, 4 March. As she neared Cornerstone Church, the man suddenly pounced from behind and sexually assaulted her.
Victim fights back – attacker flees towards Castle Marina
Showing brave resistance, the woman fought off her attacker, who then fled the scene heading towards Castle Marina. Police are now scrambling to catch the suspect.
Police release image, appeal for public’s help
Investigating officer PC Chris Cutts said: “This would have been a terrifying experience for the victim, and we are determined to find the person responsible. The victim was making her way home from a night out when she was approached and assaulted. She managed to escape, and the suspect ran off towards Castle Marina.
“We’ve released an image of a man we want to trace. If you know who he is, or if you are him, contact us immediately.”
