Police Hunt Sex Attacker After Shocking Assault Yards From Newport Police Station
Police are urgently investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted just yards from Newport Police Station on the Isle of Wight.
Attack Happened Outside Citizen’s Advice Bureau
The victim, 26, was standing outside the Citizen’s Advice Bureau on High Street between 11.40am and 11.50am on Monday, November 14, when a man approached and assaulted her. She managed to escape and later spoke to two young women in their 20s who said they had also encountered the same man before.
Police Seek Two Witnesses And Public Help
Detective Sergeant John Walton said: “We urgently need to identify the two women who spoke to the victim after the attack, as they may have valuable information to assist our inquiry. We also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or can provide any crucial details.”
Man Arrested But Investigation Continues
A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault and remains in custody.
