Cop Brutally Attacked in Stevenston Break-In

Shocking scenes unfolded in Stevenston early on Wednesday, 18 October 2023, when a 30-year-old female police officer was viciously assaulted while responding to a reported break-in on Arthur Street. The brave officer was rushed to a Glasgow hospital and is now in stable condition.

Police Hunt for Attackers

Detective Inspector Jonny MacKinnon, leading the Major Investigations Team, vowed to catch those behind this savage assault. He urged anyone near Arthur Street during the incident to come forward—no detail is too small.

“We are determined to bring these culprits to justice,” said DI MacKinnon. “If you saw or heard anything suspicious, please tell us.”

Community Safety Boosted with Extra Patrols

Chief Inspector Fraser Normansell, North Ayrshire’s area commander, slammed the attack as “completely unacceptable” and reassured residents that police are stepping up patrols to keep the community safe.

“Violence against our officers won’t be tolerated,” said Normansell. “We’re working hard to find those responsible.”
