Officers Sniff Out Trouble at Scene

Violence Erupts as Officer Attacked

The tense encounter escalated when an officer was kicked and spat at. Thankfully, the officer escaped without physical injuries.

Arrests Made Over Assault, Weapons, Drugs and Drunk Driving

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, drunk and disorderly behaviour, driving while intoxicated, and possession of an offensive weapon.
  • A 34-year-old man faces charges including possession of an offensive weapon, breach of the peace, drunk and disorderly conduct, drunk driving, and possessing Class B drugs.
  • A 48-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon and driving under the influence.

All three remain in custody as investigations continue.

Thanks to the responding officer’s instincts, dangerous weapons were recovered, and a potential accident was avoided,” said Detective Inspector Jon Kerry of Nottinghamshire Police.

“Police and emergency workers should never have to face assault simply doing their jobs. It’s unacceptable, and those responsible will be arrested and dealt with,” he added.
