A deadly car crash just after 6am in Pleasley has claimed the lives of two women and left a nine-year-old boy fighting for his life. A Vauxhall Meriva collided head-on with a Suzuki Alto, sparking chaos on the quiet border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Both women, passengers in the Suzuki, died instantly despite desperate attempts to save them. The young boy in the same car suffered life-changing injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Meanwhile, three men in the Vauxhall were injured, two of them seriously. At least one required hospital treatment.
