Appeal for Information After Attempted Murder in Stevenston, Ayrshire – UKNIP

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following a disturbing incident of attempted murder that took place in Stevenston, Ayrshire on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

At approximately 00.40 BST police responded to a distress call at Forde Crescent, near Hyslop Road in Stevenston. At the scene, they discovered two men, aged 27 and 28, who had sustained serious injuries as a result of the violent attack.

Both victims were promptly provided with medical assistance. The 28-year-old man was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he has since been discharged. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old man received treatment at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and has also been discharged.

The authorities are treating this incident as an attempted murder and have launched an intensive investigation. Positive lines of enquiry are being followed, but police are seeking additional information from potential witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Peter Sweeney of North Ayrshire CID urged members of the public who were in the vicinity of Forde Crescent between 12:20 am and 1 am on the night of the attack to come forward. He emphasized that Forde Crescent is a residential area, and it is highly likely that residents might have witnessed or heard the disturbance outside.
