Woman Attacked in Astoria Nightclub Between 2am and 3am
A woman was attacked inside the Astoria nightclub on Guildhall Walk in the early hours, sometime between 2am and 3am.
Staff Step In, Police Launch Investigation
Club staff rushed to her aid and have been fully cooperating with police since the incident. The victim is now receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
Suspect Charged with Rape
Police have charged 24-year-old Ethan Barr from Mallings Drive, Bearsted, with rape related to the incident.
Barr was remanded in custody and appeared before Southampton Magistrates Court on Monday 2 May. He was further remanded and is set to return to court on Monday 30 May.
