Paedophile Wayne Traill Jailed for 21 Years Over Decade of Abuse
Wayne Traill, 52, has been locked up for 21 years after being convicted of 21 offences involving the horrific abuse of multiple children over more than ten years.
Victims Silenced by Threats
Traill preyed on his first victim in the 1990s before exploiting two more kids later on. He cruelly warned them that no one would believe their claims if they spoke out. The police were finally alerted in March 2022, leading to Traill’s arrest. He stayed silent during interviews and initially denied all charges in court.
Guilty Plea Saves Trial
Living in Stonebridge Road, Northfleet, Traill pleaded guilty just before his trial at Woolwich Crown Court. He admitted to charges including rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and gross indecency.
Judge Brands Traill “Dangerous Sexual Offender”
On 19 December 2024, Traill was sentenced to 21 years in prison. The judge slammed him for grooming and abusing his victims, calling him “a dangerous sexual offender.” On release, Traill will face an extended eight-year licence and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Praises Victims’ Bravery
“Traill subjected his victims to depraved, sickening abuse that has caused lifelong damage,” said Detective Constable Daniel Grant. “He used fear and intimidation to satisfy his twisted desires. Thanks to the incredible courage of the victims, justice has been served. Traill is now behind bars where he can’t harm any more children.”
