County Lines Dealer Busted in Hythe Sting – Jailed for Nearly 3 Years
Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed
A 24-year-old drug dealer, Nile Jones, was nabbed during a Kent Police crackdown on county lines in Hythe. Officers swooped on a Military Road property on Friday, 22 May 2020, just as Jones tried to escape out the back.
Jones was spotted chucking suspicious packages into a garden. When police recovered the items, they found they contained heroin and cocaine—banned class A drugs.
Serious Drugs and Cash Seized
The Whitechapel man, who does not live at the targeted address, was caught trying to flee through patio doors but was stopped in his tracks. Police discovered around 80-100 wraps of cocaine and 11 grams of uncut heroin in the packages he discarded.
Officers also found half a kilo of cutting agent, used to dilute drugs, inside the property. Jones was carrying £2,000 in cash at the time of his arrest.
Swift Justice Delivered
The day after his arrest, Jones pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply at Medway Magistrates’ Court. On Monday 22 June, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced him to two years and eight months behind bars.
Detective Constable Luke Thomson said: “I am pleased our quick actions stopped Jones from escaping or hiding his illegal drugs. Kent Police is determined to make this county a no-go zone for county lines gangs. We will use every tactic to disrupt their networks and bring them to justice.”
