Kidnapping Plot Foiled After Entertainer Targeted Over Birthday Gig

A 43-year-old entertainer was lured into a terrifying kidnapping ordeal after being contacted by what he thought was a client booking him for a 60th birthday party.

Masked Men Attack and Kidnap Victim in Sneinton

When the entertainer arrived at a Manor Street address in Sneinton to discuss the gig, he was ambushed by two men decked out in black and balaclavas.

He was viciously attacked, bound, gagged, and then shuffled between properties in Wollaton and Rise Park. The kidnappers intended to extort a hefty ransom from the victim’s wife and father.

Special Forces Rescue Victim After 32 Hours of Horror

Elite officers and detectives swooped in to track the victim’s captors. After roughly 32 hours, he was dumped out of a car on Gawthorne Street, wearing only boxer shorts and socks, with his mouth taped shut and arms tied.

Quick police action transported him to Queen’s Medical Centre, where he was treated for multiple injuries. Thankfully, he has made a full recovery.

Suspects Nabbed and Slammed with Heavy Prison Sentences

Police used phone data and ANPR footage to trace the kidnappers. Following a series of raids, all suspects were arrested and charged.

  • Darshan Rathoor, 58 – Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sentenced to 16 years.
  • Sirvan Rathoor, 30 – Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sentenced to 13 years.
  • Inderpal Singh, 34 – Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sentenced to 14 years.
  • Jamie Raggett, 20 – Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sentenced to 12 years.
  • Nerver Singh, 56 – Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap. Sentenced to 6 years.
  • Khalsa Jogga Singh-Digpal, 39 – Found guilty by jury of conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail. Sentenced to 18 years.

All sentences were handed down at Nottingham Crown Court, delivering justice for the victim and a stern warning to criminals planning similar attacks.
