Middlesbrough FC Announcer Jailed 18 Years for Sick Child Sex Crimes

Mark Page, 63, once a familiar voice on BBC Radio 1 and Middlesbrough FC, has been handed a hefty 18-year prison sentence for orchestrating horrific child sex offences. Originally sentenced to 12 years in March, the Court of Appeal slammed the original term as too soft and boosted it by six years on Friday.

Grotesque Abuse Across Two Continents

Page arranged vile abuse of children as young as 12 between 2016 and 2019, exploiting business and charity trips to the Philippines as a cover. The divorced father-of-three from Teesside was found guilty of four counts of child sex offences—two caught via his home webcam and two others in the Philippines.

He pleaded not guilty, claiming his devices were hacked, but the jury wasn’t convinced. Judge Paul Watson QC described Page’s actions as “the epitome of depravity,” condemning him for taking advantage of poverty and forcing children into prostitution.

How He Was Caught

  • Authorities got suspicious after flagged Facebook messages.
  • Police raided his home and scrutinised his Skype and money transfers.
  • Evidence exposed Page’s sick abuse network.

Lifetime Sentence Includes Sexual Harm Prevention Order

Along with his lengthy jail term, Page is now under a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, ensuring he stays on the authorities’ radar. His abuse has caused long-term trauma to his victims, and the courts have made it clear: this predator will serve his time and stay controlled.
