Hero Cops Nab Teen with Huge Hunting Knife Near Victoria Park

Suspicious Teen Spotted on Patrol

Officers from Ashford’s Community Policing Team were patrolling near Victoria Park on Monday 14 September 2020 when they spotted a boy acting dodgy. The lad bolted, but the officers gave chase and caught him.

Massive Hunting Knife Found in Rucksack

Nearby, police found a rucksack containing a large hunting knife. The blade was immediately seized, and the 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He’s now been released under investigation.

Chief Inspector Issues Strong Warning

“There is no excuse for carrying a knife on the streets of Kent and we will seek prosecution of anyone found with a weapon,” said Chief Inspector Nick Sparkes, Ashford’s Area Commander.

“I’m pleased our officers acted fast to remove another potential weapon. We urge parents, teachers, and those working with young people to report concerns to help keep our communities safe.”
