Driver Throws Acid After Crash on St Anne’s Road

Chaos erupted on St Anne’s Road at 8.51am on Saturday, August 29, when a black Renault Megane crashed. The driver jumped out, but instead of accepting help, he sprayed a corrosive liquid—thought to be ammonia—into the faces of two good Samaritans.

Victims Treated for Minor Injuries

Both men suffered minor injuries and were given medical treatment at the scene. Police quickly arrested a man on suspicion of throwing a corrosive substance with intent to cause serious harm. He was also charged with failing to stop after a road accident.

Police Hunt Witnesses and Footage

The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue. Officers are urging anyone who saw the incident to come forward. They are especially keen to view any CCTV or doorbell footage that captured the shocking attack.
