Spennymoor Man Busted After Serious Crash at Bowburn Interchange
Hugh Raymond Holmes, 32, from Spennymoor, is in hot water. He faces a string of charges including aggravated vehicle taking, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and refusing a breath test. Holmes is currently in police custody and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Woman Airlifted After Crash Involving Stolen Vauxhall Astra
The drama unfolded around 10:35am at the J61 Bowburn Interchange. Emergency crews rushed in after a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra. A woman in her mid-40s was seriously hurt and airlifted to hospital. Her condition remains critical.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We would like to thank the public for their support and patience whilst we dealt with this incident,” said Detective Constable Natalie Horner of Durham Constabulary.
Anyone who saw the crash or has information is urged to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 105 of January 21.
