Ian Brown Jailed for 10 Years Over Child Rape in Fife

Ian Brown, 35, has been handed a decade behind bars after being found guilty of horrific sexual offences, including rape, at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, 4 November. The vile abuse targeted a young girl aged just five to six years old in Cardenden, Fife, between January and October 2019.

Brutal Abuse Spanned Months

The shocking offences took place over several months, leaving lasting scars. Brown’s dark deeds were uncovered following a probe by detectives in 1 Division’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit, who launched their inquiry in October 2019. Brown was promptly arrested and charged that same month.

Detective Vows Justice for Victims

Detective Constable Davie Birrell said: “Ian Brown subjected a young child to sustained sexual abuse over a number of months. This sentence sends a clear message — anyone guilty of such crimes will be brought to justice.”

“We remain committed to supporting victims of sexual crimes. If you wish to report offences like this, we promise a thorough and sensitive investigation to ensure perpetrators face the full force of the law.”
