Kayleigh Haywood Murderer Stephen Beadman Dies in Prison
Stephen Beadman, the vile predator who groomed and murdered Kayleigh Haywood, has died at HMP Wakefield. Kayleigh, from Measham, Leicestershire, was just 15 when she was killed in November 2015. Her body was found dumped in a hedgerow after a five-day manhunt shocked the nation.
Beadman’s Horrific Crime
In 2016, Beadman was handed a life sentence with a minimum of 35 years for raping and murdering Kayleigh. He also admitted falsely imprisoning her. The court heard Kayleigh had been groomed online and agreed to stay at a flat in the village of Ibstock.
On the early morning of November 15, Beadman chased her down, raped her, then brutally beat her to death.
Accomplice Also Behind Bars
Kayleigh had been in contact with Luke Harlow, a friend of Beadman’s, exchanging hundreds of messages just weeks before the attack. It was in Harlow’s flat that the horrific assault took place. He was jailed for 12 years for sexually touching, falsely imprisoning Kayleigh, and grooming her along with two other girls.
Details of Beadman’s Death Remain Secret
The Prison Service confirmed Beadman died at HMP Wakefield. They have informed the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman. But the cause of death has not been made public and is a matter for the coroner.
