Drunk Dad Banned for Driving with Two Kids in Car
Three-Year Driving Ban for Josh Kellock
Josh Kellock, 33, from Purton, has been hit with a three-year driving ban and fined £500 after being caught drink driving with two young children in his car. The dad pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday (05/09) to driving over the legal alcohol limit, driving without a proper licence, and without insurance.
Caught Red-Handed After Pub Run
On the evening of 19 March, police were tipped off about a drunk man planning to drive home from the Royal George pub in Purton with two kids onboard. Officers found Kellock parked outside a shop, saw him leave his car with the children, then breathalysed him.
Kellock blew 51 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath—well over the legal limit of 35. He was promptly arrested.
Cop Issues Stark Warning
“It is unthinkable that somebody would get behind the wheel, clearly over the limit, with two young children as passengers—putting their lives at risk,” said PC Jonathan Kilburn of the Royal Wootton Bassett Area Community Policing Team. “Thanks to the public tip-off, we caught Kellock before any harm was done. Hopefully this three-year ban will make our roads safer.”
Police Urge Public to Report Drink and Drug Drivers
